Joel began his ministry at First Baptist Church in November, 2009 having been in the music ministry for over 25 years. He is a graduate of Houston Baptist University, 1983, where he received his Bachelors in Music Education and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, 1988, where he received his Masters in Church Music. He is married to Rebecca (Becky) who also graduated from Houston Baptist University in 1983 receiving a Bachelors in Church Music and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1986 where she received her Masters in Religious Education. She recently went back to school having earned a Masters in Social Work at the University of Houston and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Joel and Becky have three children. Robin, a junior at Howard Payne University is studying church music. John, a freshman at East Texas Baptist University is studying Business Management and also plays on the Tiger Soccer Team. Ruth is a senior at South Grand Prairie High School. Joel's love for church music has allowed him many different opportunities for ministry. He is excited to be partnering with a great staff and program at First Baptist Church.

Charles began his ministry with FBC in February 1988 as Minister of Children and became Minister of Education in March of 2006. He graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia , Arkansas in 1981 with a BA degree in Speech Pathology, and from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1987 with a Master of Arts in Religious Education degree. Charles is currently enrolled in the Ed.D. program at Dallas Baptist University. Debbie, his wife, leads our Day Care Ministry. Debbie also graduated from Ouachita in 1981, and from Southwestern Seminary in 1990. Charles and Debbie have two children, Erin, a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University, and Jordan, a student at the University of North Texas in Denton. Charles assists church program organizations in developing a comprehensive program of Christian education for our entire church family.

Matt began his ministry with FBC in January 2006. He graduated from Howard Payne University and earned his Masters degree from B. H. Carroll Theological Institute in June 2008. His wife Amber is also a graduate of Howard Payne and is a tremendous support to his ministry. Matt and Amber welcomed their first child, Wyatt James, on December 21, 2008. Matt loves to see students come to know Christ and then to see them share the gospel with others and make a difference in their world.

Jana began her ministry at FBC in December, 2007.  She is a graduate of Howard Payne University and earned her Master's degree from Dallas Baptist University.  She grew up right next door in Arlington and she came to us after serving as a Children's Ministry Intern at First Baptist, Arlington.  Jana has a fun, outgoing personality and she has a passion for helping children and their parents know Christ and be all He desires them to be.
