Read – (3 minutes) “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” (John 3:16-17)
Passage: Galatians 4:1-7
Christmas day is almost here. While there may be some last minute shopping yet to do, there are gifts already wrapped and placed under our Christmas tree. The names on each gift are the names of the people who are part of our family. They are dearly loved. The gifts were thought out for each person to be something that would be special for each one. One of the highlights of Christmas morning is to see each person’s expression as he or she opens one of their presents. However, the greatest joy doesn’t come from the one who receives the present. It comes from Pam and I who are the givers of the present.
That’s how it is with God. He gave His only Son, who was wrapped in human flesh and was born in Bethlehem. A little over 33 years later, He wasn’t placed under a tree, he was nailed to a tree. Buried in a borrowed tomb, He rose to life three days later. Jesus is God’s perfect gift and all we have to do to receive forgiveness of sin and eternal life is to believe in Him. Salvation is simple. It is free. You can believe that!
