Passage: Psalm 106:1-12

The Lord has never asked my opinion regarding when He ought to do anything. Over the years, there have been many times when I wish He would have acted on my time frame, but I have found that when He acts, His time frame has always proved to be the best.

The birth of Jesus came at just the right time in history. The time was right politically with the Pax Romana, or Roman peace in which there was a sense of stability across the world which allowed for the movement of the gospel. The time was right culturally, as the Greek influence had been so pervasive that Greek was a universal language and that allowed the gospel to be written in a language that both Jew and Gentile could read. The time was right religiously, as the Jews had firmly established themselves as recognizing only one God and Jesus came as the fulfillment of the law and of their Messianic hopes.  As you look ahead in this New Year, you can rest assured that God will come to meet all your needs at just the right time.
