Passage: Hebrews 10:23-25

Three preachers in a small country town were discussing a problem each church was having with squirrels in their attics. Two of the preachers complained that when they caught the squirrels and released them in the woods, the squirrels kept coming back. The Baptist preacher said the church he pastored had solved their problem. He said, “We had the same problem until we caught the squirrels, baptized them and put them on our church roll. Now they only come back on Christmas and Easter!”I laugh at that, but that is a reality in many churches. Each week, less than half of the members of churches who claim to be believers in Jesus Christ are in attendance in worship or Bible study. Many don’t even make it for Christmas or Easter.

God wired us for relationship. One of His purposes for us is that we would have regular fellowship with other believers. Being in the company of other believers is vital for our spiritual lives. It provides a way of gaining and giving support and encouragement as we go through life. One indicator of a godly heart is a desire to have fellowship with believers. Let that be a priority for you.
