Fellowship makes a difference

Pray – (1/2 minute)

Read – (3 minutes) “How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you? Night and day we pray most earnestly that we may see you again and supply what is lacking in your faith.”
(1 Thessalonians 3:9-10)

Passage: Psalm 122:1-9

The National Center on Addictions and Substance Abuse did a study that examined the importance of family dinners. The summation of the study showed, “that the more children have dinner with their parents, the less likely they are to smoke, drink, or take illegal drugs.” The study found that it didn’t matter as much who cooked the meal or where it was eaten. What mattered was that the family was together at the table eating the meal.

Fellowship is a gathering of God’s family members. When gathered for worship or Bible study, the family is feeding on God’s Word. Now, no one becomes a Christian simply by attending church or being around other believers, but  no one will grow deeply as a Christian who doesn’t join together with other believers. God never intended us to live out our Christian lives in isolation from others. He designed the local church to be a spiritual family to help His children grow. Be in fellowship with others with your faithful presence and let God continue to develop a godly heart in you.
