Passage: Proverbs 5:1-23

God wants the best for you and everyone else. He designed you for relationship. He wants you to enjoy a relationship with Him and He wants you to enjoy relationships with others. One of the key relationships that God designed is the relationship of marriage. Though not everyone will be married (Paul shares benefits of singleness in 1 Corinthians 7), God’s design for marriage is for one man and one woman to be in covenant together for life.

Sexual activity outside of the husband/wife relationship is contrary to God’s design and destructive to life and relationships. Sexual immorality encompasses all kinds of sexual activity that is outside the marriage relationship. It refers to sex before marriage, outside of marriage with someone other than one’s spouse, viewing pornography, engaging in homosexual activity and more. All of those are self-centered violations of God’s design. Paul told the believers in Thessalonica to avoid them. He told those in Corinth to flee them. To experience God’s best, live clean morally. That is a decision you will never regret.
