Passage: Proverbs 7:1-27

Every year at the Super Bowl, there are stories of people who thought they bought tickets for the game only to find out at the gate that the tickets they bought were counterfeit. One story this year went beyond a few tickets. A businessman in Georgia, with a good reputation in his town, claimed to have access to tickets and special Super Bowl events. People trusted him and gave him $750,000. Even his mother, who decided to go as a once in a lifetime experience, gave him $36,000. It was all a lie and the week before the Super Bowl, the man ran away with all the money. When he is caught, he will be going to jail. Even the world acknowledges that stealing is wrong.

It’s another thing with the world when it comes to sexual activity outside of marriage. The world says   it’s fine as long as the two are consenting adults. However, God says it is wrong and it has negative effects. Before marriage and outside of marriage, sexual activity is actually stealing something that should be reserved for one’s husband or wife. Following God’s plan is not only pleasing to God, it is considerate and loving to one’s future or current spouse. It is also a commitment that leaves no regret.
