Passage: Psalm 125:1-5

Harold Camping was a man who convinced many people that he had figured out the date of the rapture. He claimed it would happen on May 21, 2011. Some people believed his claim so much that they sold everything they owned to finance a promotional campaign about it and then they gathered in places such as Times Square to wait for Jesus to return. When the day came and went, Camping claimed that the actual date would be October 21, 2011. He got that by suggesting that the 153 fish that were counted in John 21:11 represented the days from a spiritual return of Christ until the rapture and destruction of earth.

Living ready for the rapture and living right is totally the opposite of what Camping claimed and what some people did in response. God wants you to live a self-controlled life that looks up to Him in faith as you deal with circumstances of this world. He wants you to look around for opportunities to show His love to others. He wants you to look within and set your hope securely in your relationship with Jesus Christ. Jesus is coming again. When He comes, let Him find you living right for Him.
