Read – (3 minutes) “During the time Mordecai was sitting at the king’s gate, Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s officers who guarded the doorway, became angry and conspired to assassinate King Xerxes. But Mordecai found out about the plot and told Queen Esther, who in turn reported it to the king, giving credit to Mordecai. And when the report was investigated and found to be true, the two officials were hanged on a gallows. All this was recorded in the book of the annals in the presence of the king.” (Esther 2:21-23)
Passage: Galatians 6:7-10
Around 100 years before Esther was forced into the harem of King Xerxes, Jeremiah gave the people of Israel a word from God about living in exile. He said, “Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”(Jeremiah 29:7) Mordecai follow God’s word and told Esther about the plot to kill the king, even though the king was a pagan man who had taken his adopted daughter away from him. That action saved the kings life and ultimately was used by God to save the Jewish nation and impact the world.
God calls us to do good wherever we can, whenever we can and in any way we can. Wherever you are, make the place better because you are there. Do good and let Jesus shine through you!
