Passage: John 1:1-12
A messenger is an official representative of someone else. A messenger comes with a word to share. God told Malachi that there would be two messengers. Prophetically, the first messenger was John the Baptist who prepared the way for Jesus. John’s word was telling people to repent and look for the Messiah. The second messenger was God Himself. Jesus is the incarnate Word of God. He is the messenger of the new covenant. His covenant was written and sealed with His death and resurrection. It is a covenant of life and peace that is available to anyone who will believe and receive Jesus as Lord and Savior.
God calls out and He wants to bless us in a special way. All of His blessings are wrapped up in Christ and they flow to us through our relationship with Him. When Jesus began His public ministry, He came to the Temple in Jerusalem as an infant, a twelve-year-old boy and early into His public ministry. Today, His Temple is your body personally and the church collectively. Receive God’s Word and follow Jesus. Blessing flow from Him!
