Live expectantly for Jesus

Pray – (1/2 minute)

Read – (3 minutes) “ ‘Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and that day that is coming will set them on fire,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘Not a root or a branch will be left to them. But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall.’ ” (Malachi 4:1-2)

Passage: Revelation 22:1-17

There is more written in the Bible about the second coming of Jesus than there is written about His first coming. The first time Jesus came as a Suffering Servant. The second time He comes, He will return as the Conquering King. The final return of Jesus will be a horrible day for non-believers who have rejected Jesus as Lord and Savior. They will see Him fully in His glory, but realize that it is too late for them to turn to Him for salvation.

Jesus is coming again visibly, personally and victoriously one day, but for you as a believer, He has already come to your heart personally and victoriously. He is the “sun of righteousness” who shines His grace upon your heart. When you have a love relationship with Jesus, your heart will leap for joy in that relationship now and in the expectancy of seeing Him face to face in the future. When you know Jesus, the best is always yet to be!
