Read – (3 minutes) “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 4:28)
God loves diversity. He put it into the creation of the world. Diversity is seen everywhere from the plants and trees to the deserts and forests. Diversity is seen in animals, insects, birds and fish. Within each of those areas, diversity is seen in every species, with no two being exactly alike. The greatest diversity is seen in mankind. No two people are identical. Every person is unique. People have different tastes in food, music and activities. People have different gifts and talents.
When God puts people together in His universal church and into a local church by their faith in Jesus, He does not take away their diversity. He does not insist on uniformity. He does call for unity. The unity we share as believers is the oneness of being part of the family of God. We share a common commission and a common commandment. The commission is to share Christ and make disciples from every people group in the world. The commandment is to love one another. Unity is the fashion that makes the church attractive for the world to be open to hearing about Jesus. Walk in unity with other believers and dress up for Christmas!
