Passage: Psalm 119:97-104
When God made Adam, He gave Adam a free will to choose whether to follow God and relate to God. That free will involved the entire being of Adam including his mind. God did not create Adam as a mindless puppet. He intended Adam to use his intellect and to choose to give his attention to God so that he could fulfill the purpose for which he was created.
God gave you a mind to think with. To love God with all your mind is to love Him intellectually and thoughtfully. It is to give your attention to Him and keep your focus on Him. Our human nature lends itself to being easily distracted. We also tend to get spiritually lazy and not do our own study or thinking. You know the 3 R’s from school, (though they are loosely r’s). Reading, ‘riting and ‘rithmatic. Do you know the 3 L’s of spiritual growth? Listen, learn and live. Genuine worship occurs when you love God with your mind by listening to what He says, learning what He teaches and living according to that Word. Keep your focus on Christ and love Him with all your mind.
