Passage: Psalm 63:1-11

My wife, Pam, and I have been married for 38½ years. While I jokingly say that we made it through the stay at home period by me staying in my home study all day, the truth is that we actually enjoyed being together all that time. One key reason is that over the years, we have done what healthy couples do. We have made a firm commitment of love to each other. Then, we have nurtured our relationship by spending time together, so that our marriage does not depend on momentary feelings.

In our scripture today, Jude gave one command – “Keep yourselves in God’s love.” Keep means to throw yourself into it and give it all you can. You are save by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. You can never lose that salvation, because you never earned it in the first place. However, to experience all that God has for you in your relationship with Him, you must nurture your relationship by spending time with Him and by practicing spiritual disciplines that He lays out in His Word. God wants you to let trying times like these with the COVID pandemic and social unrest be time to experience Him in a deeper way. Enjoy His love!
