Passage: Psalm 100:1-5
When people think of heaven, they picture a place of beauty, tranquility and peace. That’s because God wired mankind with a sense of eternity and people know there must be more than just his earthly life. Ecclesiastes 3:11 tells us that God “has made everything beautiful in his time. He has also set eternity in the heart of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” When you received Jesus, you were made right with God through faith, and you received the promise of heaven, which is a place of perfect peace because of the presence of God.
Because of His Spirit, you can also live with peace in your heart right now because of the presence of God in your life. His peace will be manifest as you trust in Him, spend time with Him and give thanks to Him. Giving thanks to God does not mean you don’t feel sorrow, grief or pain from certain circumstances. It is recognizing that nothing can separate you from God’s love and that He works in the midst of everything you face to make you more like Jesus. Give thanks to God and experience peace today.
