"As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 'Come, follow me,' Jesus said, 'and I will make you fishers of men.' At once they left their nets and followed Him." (Mark 1:16-18)
Passage: Isaiah 40:1-5
Christmas is a special season, especially when you see it through the eyes of children. Certainly, children learn early to anticipate the gifts, but they also enjoy getting to help with the preparations around Christmas. They like to help decorate a tree, a gingerbread house and more. They like to help in the kitchen with baking cookies or other Christmas treats. In the same way you see children happy to join in the things of Christmas, you will find the true joy and experience of Christmas as you to join God in His work.
God could have chosen to do all His work without our help, but He chose to let us join Him in His work to display His glory to the world and to be a part of His plan to build an eternal family. When Jesus invited the first disciples to join Him, He was doing to them what God the Father did by sending Gabriel to visit His mother Mary. He invited Mary to join Him in His work. He invites you to join Him too. Mary said yes. Do you?
