Show People Jesus

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at the Feast. They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, with a request. ‘Sir,’ they said, ‘we would like to see Jesus.’ ” (John 12:20-22)

       Passage: Psalm 45:1-4

      Ecclesiastes 3:11 tells us that God has “set eternity in the hearts of me; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from begging to end.” The Greeks who came to Jerusalem during the Passover week, had grown up in a religion that claimed there were multiple gods. They had become disillusioned and realized it could not be true. They were looking into Judaism, but they still felt something was missing. So they found Philip, who was a Jew with a Greek name from an area that was heavily influence by Greek culture. They identified with Philip and thought he could help them meet Jesus.

       People in this world are looking for purpose and meaning in life. They are looking for it in all the wrong places because the sin nature has turned things upside down. Some in the world have tried to find the answer in going to a church, but that disillusioned them as they encountered churches that were focused more on maintenance of the building and themselves. What people need is not to see more of a church. People need to see Jesus. You can be like Philip and help people in your world find Him. Ask God to help you do just that.
