Pray – (1/2 minute)

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.” (John 13:15-17)
Passage: 2 Timothy 2:1-13

Learning is a process. It involves a teacher and a student willing to learn. The teacher may be with the student in person or the teacher may be the one who has written up the learning material. The teacher will demonstrate what he wants the student to learn by doing something and/or by giving the student a pattern to trace over or follow, such as in learning to write, sew, paint or doing woodwork. The student follows the pattern as the teacher observes. The goal is for the student to learn well enough to become a teacher for another learner.
Jesus is the Master Teacher. By washing His disciples feet, He gave them a visual lesson and a pattern to follow in how to be a servant/leader in the Kingdom. The pattern showed an attitude of humility. The service was action that made a difference in people’s lives. His service was an investment in people, an intentional lifestyle He followed, and it was done impartially for everyone. His death on the cross was His ultimate service for the world. Follow the pattern and set your heart to serve like Jesus. You will have an impact for Him, and you will be blessed!
