Money Wise

         Whenever I do pre-marriage counseling for a young man and woman who have never been married before, I always include a discussion of how they view finances. While most young couples think they’ll never have issues, some estimates suggest that as many as 80% of all divorces have finances as either a major or partial cause of the conflict that led to the divorce. In our upside down world, many people live under financial pressures due to excessive debts that they have.

King Solomon had more money than anyone in his time, but he understood how important it is to be wise with money. We live in a material world and money is a part of that world in earning and spending. God knows that we have to deal with money and He has a plan to help us control it instead of being controlled by it. Money and things will not bring ultimate satisfaction and meaning to life. It can be used to help you enjoy life as you follow God’s purposes for you. Set your heart to follow God’s plan and be money wise in Him.
