Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.” (Matthew 24:45-46)
Passage: Matthew 28:19-20
When I played football in the eighth grade, I was the smallest player on the team. I certainly didn’t start and I didn’t play very much in the games until our team was so far ahead that there was no way we could lose. However, I had an important part on the team. I played with the group of boys in practice who ran plays like the opposing team so that our starting players could get ready for the game. For any sports team to be successful, it takes far more than one person and every person has an assignment he or she needs to fulfill.
God designed His church to function like a team and He wants every church to be successful in their mission. Every believer has been gifted in different ways and every believer has various things he or she can do to help the mission. Individually and corporately, we are called to love God and love people. No one can do God’s work alone. We were made to do it together. Your gifts and talents are needed in God’s work. Set your heart to pursue God’s work and let Him use you to help your church be all God desires her to be.
