Prioritize God’s Word

      Passage: Matthew 7:24-27

This spring, our church family has partnered with Buckner International to build a house for a family in the Valley of Texas. During our school spring break, we framed up the house on our church parking lot, which allowed over 100 people of all ages to have a hand in working on part of the house. After a special dedication, the house was taken apart in wall sections and shipped to the Valley to await a small group of volunteers would go for a week to get the house set up and moved along as far as we could.
One concern we had was that the area had a heavy rain and flooding just days before our volunteers arrived. However, all was fine, because construction of a Buckner house follows the principle of making sure that the house is built on a foundation of rock that is elevated from the flatland. Like a house needing a solid foundation, Jesus is the solid rock foundation for life. He is the incarnate Word of God, and the Bible is the inspired Word of God. In addition to protecting your witness, another key to preparing yourself for Jesus’ return is to prioritize God’s Word. Love His Word. Learn His Word. Live it out. Many Christians live by convenience and circumstances. Those who stand strong for Jesus live by conviction. Stand firm on God’s Word and build your life on solid ground.
