Then the man who had receive the one talent came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have no scatted see. So, I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’ ” (Matthew 25:19-20, 24-25)
Passage: Romans 14:9-12
Excuses, Excuses. It is a common human trait to give excuses for why something that was assigned did not get done. Excuses go back to the Garden of Eden when God confronted Adam and Eve about their sin of eating the forbidden fruit. Adam made the excuse that Eve gave him the fruit. Eve made the excuse that the serpent deceived her. Neither excuse kept them from the consequence for their sin.
God has blessed you with the life you have and has given you all you have. He has given you spiritual gifts to be used to glorify Him and be a blessing to others. You are a steward of your life and one day, you will give an account of what you did with your life. I will give an account for how I handled God’s assignments for me, how I managed the resources He allowed me to have and how I cared for relationships in life. No excuses can be made for my failures. Thank God His grace is greater!
