Passage: Acts 1:1-8
After the shepherds saw Jesus in the manger, the Bible tells us that “they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child”. (Luke 2:17) Many people heard what they said, but there is not an indication that any of them believed it or went to see Jesus for themselves. When Anna recognized Jesus on the day He was brought to the Temple, she spoke out and told people what this baby was God’s Promised Messiah. Many people heard what she said, but there is not an indication that any of them believed it.
You and I are not responsible for whether others believe in Jesus. We do have a responsibility to tell others about Jesus. Christmas is a combination of two words. Christ and mas. Mas is a shortened version of Mass, which means a service of worship. Christmas, therefore, is literally, a service of worship to Christ. Many people do not understand Christmas that way, so they do not experience Christmas in all it’s wonder and joy. People need to hear how the cradle of Christmas points to the cross and resurrection. Look for ways you can share Jesus from a simple invitation to be your guest at church to sharing the gospel. When you tell others about Jesus, you will experience Christmas all year long.
