God Cares for You

Pray – (1/2 minute)

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) “You are the children of the Lord your God.” (Deuteronomy 14:1a)

   Passage: Psalm 36:5-10

        A little while after our son was brought home from the hospital after he was born, the reality hit our daughter that she was no longer the only child getting attention in the home. As she was processing this, one day she observed, “Well, I guess we have to keep him. After all, the only place you can take something back is at Wal-Mart.” She was right. Children should be seen as precious and permanent and it is sad and tragic when a child is abused or abandoned. 

God designed the family and He is building a family. He chose Abraham and his descendants to be His covenant family. Moses emphasized that as he spoke to the children of Israel and reminded them that they were the children of the Lord. John 1:11-12 says that “He (Jesus) came to that which was His own, but His own did not receive Him. Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” When you became a believer in Jesus and received Him, you became part of God’s forever family. You are His child and He cares for you and He wants the best for you. Rest in that.
