Leave a Legacy of Faithfulness

Pray – (1/2 minute)

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing.” (2 Timothy 4:6-8)

       Passage: Matthew 25:14-23

God gives you one life here on earth. He called you to Himself by grace and did all the work for your salvation. He gives you His Spirit to enable you to fulfill His purposes for your life. He gives you incredible promises that should make the choice to be faithful easy and clear. However, your fleshly, sin nature will always pull you to make an opposite choice. Don’t listen to that call. Tune in to Jesus and choose life. Follow Him and be faithful. Think about the legacy you are building and the testimony you will leave behind. Let your commitment be one that was expressed in the chorus of a song by John Mohr.

O may all who come behind us, find us faithful.
May the fire of our devotion light their way.
May the footprints that we leave, lead them to believe,
And the lives we live inspire them to obey.
O may all who come behind us find us faithful.
