Give Me Jesus

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.” (1 Timothy 6:6-7)
     Passage: 1 Timothy 6:9-16

Solomon was given the capacity by God to observe life and understand things better than anyone before or since. He used that capacity primarily to go on a search to see if meaning in life could be found “under the sun” without God in the equation. Solomon’s assessment was that without God everything is ultimately meaningless. Life is short. Everything is the same. The flesh is never satisfied. The ultimate answer for life is found by looking above the sun and living in the SON with a relationship with Jesus Christ. Jeremy Camp adapted an old African-American Spiritual in the song “Give Me Jesus”.

In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise
Give me Jesus

Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus
You can have all this world
Just give me Jesus

When I am alone
When I am alone
Oh, when I am alone
Give me Jesus

When I come to die
When I come to die
Oh, when I come to die
Give me Jesus

Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus
You can have all this world
Just Give me Jesus
