     Passage: Psalm 103:1-22

Go and look in your closet. Do you have more than a few pairs of shoes, or more than a few sets of clothes. Why is that? You only wear one at a time and you could certainly wash clothes quickly and wear them again sooner. The main reason we have more is that we live in a society that is more prosperous than most of the world and advertisement and society in general feeds on our basic human nature to never be satisfied. Solomon had experienced this firsthand. He accumulated greater wealth than anyone before and he could acquire anything his heart desired, yet he found that all the “stuff” did not satisfy the deepest longings of his heart. It never does. I never will.
The answer to true satisfaction is not found under the sun. It is found in the SON. In Psalm 103:4-5, Solomon’s father, King David, expressed the in his praise to God who he said, “redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed liked the eagle’s.” Jesus satisfies. He blesses us with good things, but He the ultimate source of satisfaction.
