Passage: Psalm 80:1-3

I certainly can’t speak for you, but I know that sometimes I’m not good at being observant. For example, even after 42 years of marriage, if Pamela asks me if I noticed anything different, I’m afraid I often stumble with the answer. (I’m glad she understands and laughs about it). Someone who didn’t have a problem with observation was King Solomon. He was an observer of human nature and how people were treated in the world. One of his observations was that there was oppression.

There is much oppression in this world. There is the tyranny of power where people without power are taken advantage of, violated and abused. God never intended for people to be oppressed. He cares about people. All people. Solomon observed the oppression, but he was living without God in the equation and he didn’t do anything about the oppression and he didn’t make a difference to make a difference. You can make a difference with you don’t just live under the sun, but you live in the SON.
