Satisfaction in the SON

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “A man may have 100 children and live many years; yet no matter how long he lives, if he cannot enjoy his prosperity and does not receive a proper burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he. . . All man’s effort are for his mouth, yet his appetite is never satisfied.” (Ecclesiastes 6:3-7)
Passage: Psalm 27:1-14
Solomon looked at all the ways mankind seeks to find meaning in life. Our scripture shows two of those. One is having posterity of children and grandchildren. Two is engaging in the passions of life. Added on the first two things Solomon mentioned in chapter 5 of seeking power and gaining more possessions, he concluded that all the things that mankind thinks will bring satisfaction, are temporary at best and totally void at worst.
For most parents and grandparents, there is nothing that is better or more satisfying on earth than seeing their children and grandchildren grow and spending time together. However, even they cannot satisfy the deepest longings of the soul to find eternal rest in God. True satisfaction isn’t found under the sun. It is found in the SON and God wants you to experience that satisfaction in Him.
