Be Grateful to Jesus for What you Have

Pray – (1/2 minute)

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Then I realized that it is good and proper for a man to eat and drink, and to find satisfaction in his toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given him- for this is his lot. Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work – this is a gift of God.” (Ecclesiastes 5:18-19)
       Passage: 1 Corinthians 4:7; James 1:16-18

While Solomon was summarizing the journey and search he made for meaning in life and satisfaction without God in the equation, he ended up sharing wise principles for life that showed how true satisfaction can be found when you recognize God’s hand and follow Him in life. One of those way is to be grateful to God for the things that you have.
Three times in our scripture today, you hear Solomon talk about God being the source of whatever a person has. God is the giver of life. God is the giver of possessions and God is the giver of one being able to enjoy life. True satisfaction is found in gratitude. Don’t compare yourself with anyone who seems to have more, in fact, and don’t think you are somehow better or more worthy than anyone who seems to have less. Make a list of your own blessing and give God thanks. Gratitude leads to a positive attitude and satisfaction in the SON.
