Passage: Psalm 2:1-12
One of my favorite things about the Christmas season is watching children enjoy the activities of the month and having anticipation of getting presents on Christmas Day. At the same time, I am thankful to be in a church and community where people give money and gifts to help children, whose family circumstances may not allow them to have any presents, receive gifts to make Christmas a happy time. All of the things we do during December in our church family, from the Christmas events and fellowships to Christmas Cantata’s, have one ultimate purpose. It is to share the love of God and point people to One who is the whole reason for Christmas - Jesus Christ.
The Apostle John didn’t give the details of the birth of Jesus, but He did tell who Jesus is and why He came. Christmas is Jesus - the Word made flesh. Many in the world do not recognize Him, but believers know that without Him, Christmas has no ultimate meaning. Enjoy all the traditions and the celebrations you have, but center them all in Jesus and let the joy of Christ be yours.
