Passage: Psalm 119:1-16
If you grew up in Texas, where it is claimed everything is bigger, you would know that there are two things that are really big. Football and Marching Band. The kids in the band take their participation every bit as seriously as the kids on the football team and they spend hours upon hours getting ready for Friday night games and band competitions in the fall. One of the things that I enjoy about watching a marching band is the precision of their steps as they march. Now, all those kids have a choice. They could decide to ignore the director and make up their own steps and even go another direction, but that would produce a chaotic program. But when they learn exactly how far each step should be and they learn how to march in line and they follow the director’s instruction, the program becomes a thing of beauty.
God wants His children to march in step with Jesus. Because the Spirit of Christ is in your life as a believer, you have His power to enable you to live like He did and to reflect His character to the world. It’s your choice. You can choose to follow Christ and pursue His purposes for your life. When you do, you will experience God’s best and your life will be a beauty to behold.
