Be Helpful in Your Conduct toward Others

Pray – (1/2 minute)

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “For by grace are you have been saved through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:8-10)
  Passage: Galatians 6:7-10

I am not a poet or an artist, but I am glad that I can enjoy the poetry and artwork of others who are gifted in those ways. Poets such as Wordsworth, Dickinson and Browning and artists such as DaVinci and Rembrandt are considered the masters. God is the  Master poet and artist above them all. Paul says we are “God’s workmanship.” The word translated workmanship is from the Greek word “poema”, which as you can see is where we directly get our English word “poem”. The word can also be translated as masterpiece. The whole emphasis is that you are God’s masterpiece.
By grace, God has saved you through the simple act of you believing in Jesus and receiving Him. You didn’t earn salvation. Jesus did all the work through His perfect life, atoning death and victorious resurrection. As a child of God, you have the fruit of the Spirit within you and God wants the characteristics of that fruit to be displayed before the world. On way to display His goodness is through doing good works that give Him glory and bless others. God has already prepared things for you. Be ready to say yes and do all the good you can for Him.
