Love is Kind

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, . . . But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:1, 4-8)

         Today is Valentine’s Day. Some would suggest the day was established by card companies and flower shops to sell a lot of cards and flowers, but even if so, Valentine’s Day is a good day to pause and remember to express love to those closest to us in our lives. For us as believers, it is also a good opportunity for us to remember that the love of God was not confined to people who loved Him. In fact, it was expressed at the cross for a world that hated Him and was incapable of loving Him, because we were “dead in our sin”. God’s love and kindness is found in Jesus and He wants us to share His love and kindness with others. Show kindness through what you do. Speak with kindness through what you say. Share kindness through what you give. Be kind.
