      Passage: Psalm 147:1-11

You are special to God. How special? The Apostle Peter gave a description of how special when he wrote to believers and reminded them who they were in Christ, as a part of God’s church. You are “a chosen people”. God chose you, but not because of any merit on your part or any need He had for your help. He chose you because He loves you. He created and crafted you and He wanted you in His forever family. You are “a royal priesthood”. That speaks of your dignity as a child of the King of Kings. It also speaks of your duty as a priest with the privilege of access to God in prayer and the responsibility to represent Him in this world and minister to others in His name.
You are a part of “a holy nation”. That refers to you being set apart for special use in a diverse family that includes every believer in the world who are part of God’s church, “a people belonging to God.” Everything that God has done in Christ for you and in you and through you is designed for you “to declare His praises.” Affirm who you are in Christ. Love yourself and live for Him today.
