They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite . . . saw him and passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan . . . saw him. . .”

Passage: Matthew 18:1-4
When toddlers and preschoolers play with other toddlers and preschoolers, they play with everyone regardless of physical differences such as a skin color, gender or anything else. They do not know prejudice at that age. Jesus pointed to children when He said, “unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” (Matt. 18:3) God wants us to have child-like faith that sees people like He does, without prejudice or self-centeredness.
In the parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus pointed out that three people all saw the same situation of a man who was lying on the side of a road after being beaten and robbed. The two religious men saw with self-centered eyes and did not want to be inconvenienced. The Samaritan saw the hurt of the man with God’s eyes instead of the prejudice found between Jews and Samaritans. Loving your neighbor begins with seeing things from God’s perspective. Look at hurts of others through His eyes.
