God’s Methods are INtentional

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. . .” (Matthew 28:19-20)
  Passage: Mark 4:26-29

         The Great Commission contains one command – make disciples. It also contains three action words that describe a simple process for doing that. The word translated “go” needs to be understood by its actual word form, which is better translated, “as you are going”, or as you are seeking to join God in building His Kingdom, which involves reaching people for Christ. Going speaks of intentionality. There are many ways to be intentional in ministry to reach people.
        One way is to intercede for people. Pray intentionally for people to be saved. Another way is to invest intentionally and to give back to God with time, talent and treasure to show the love of Christ to others and spread the gospel. Another way is to be invite people to come join you in Bible Study and/or worship. Surveys who that most Americans would actually attend a church service if a friend invited them. A final way to be intentional is to get involved in ministry using your gifts and talents. It may be serving with children or youth or adults. It may be in a missions projects or local ministry the church helps support. Methods that intentionally reach out to people are used by God. Love God’s world and be a part of what God is doing.
