  Passage: Galatians 6:1-10

Every year during the annual meeting of the Baptist General Convention of Texas, there is a moving slide presentation from the Memorials Committee that shows pictures of a number of people in our Texas Baptist family who have passed away the previous year. Among the many photos, there were a few pictures of people who I knew personally and who had a strong impact on my life. The tears that came to my eyes were tears of gratitude for them and reminders of how God gives us relationships to help support us in life.
God’s design for relationships is for them to be helpful, not hurtful, however, there are times when you will experience a hurt from a relationship. King David shared in Psalm 55:12-14 how he felt when he was betrayed by a friend. Jesus experienced the hurt of betrayal, abandonment and denial from his disciples. In those times, God is still at work to shape you and help you become the best you can be. Set your heart to be an encourager who gives support to others and when you are hurt, go to your Heavenly Father and put the hurt in His hands. He wants His best for you.
