Only One Relationship can Save You
Pray – (1/2 minute)
Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
Passage: Psalm 68:4-6
God designed us to be relational. We are made to love and to be loved and we need relationships to help shape us and to support us. However, there is only one relationship that can save us and give us eternal life in heaven. That relationship is with Jesus Christ and is available to anyone who will believe in Him and receive Him. John 1:11-12 tells us, “He came to His own, but His own did not receive Him. Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.”
Through faith in Jesus, you became part of God’s family. You are also God’s friend. Jesus is a friend who sticks closer than a brothers. (Proverbs 18:24). Jesus is a friend who will never leave you or forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5) You can talk with Him and count on Him every moment of every day. Be grateful for all your relationships, but especially for your relationship with Jesus.
