Witness to God’s Goodness

Pray – (1/2 minute)

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, ‘On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.’ ” (Genesis 22:14)
  Passage: Psalm 145:1-13

Abraham learned more about God’s character and nature that day on Mount Moriah. He would tell the story of how God provided the ram on the mountain and the Covenant God made with him. Isaac would tell the story, and future generations would continue telling it. Nearly 900 years later, King David would write an affirmation of God’s provision in Psalm 37:25 which says, “I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.”
On this Thanksgiving Day, give witness to your family and anyone else you share time with of the blessings and goodness of God in your life. As the wonderful hymn says:

When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
Do not be discouraged, thinking all is lost.
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

Count your blessings, name them one by one.
Count your blessings, see what God has done.
Count your blessings. Name them one by one.
Count your many blessings, see what God has done.
