Put Your Faith in Jesus

       Passage: Psalm 56:1-13

A sign was posted in a textile mill workshop: “When your thread becomes tangled, call the foreman.” A new worker had the thread tangled on the machine she was working on, but she decided to try and untangled it herself. The more she tried, the worse the tangle became until she finally called the foreman, who was able to untangle the thread because she knew all about the machine. The foreman asked the worker, “Why didn’t you call me?”. The worker replied, “I thought I could fix it and I tried the best I could.” The foreman answered, “No, the best you could do would have been to call me first.”
Jesus knew the anxiety and turmoil His disciples felt in that upper room. He told them not to let their hearts be troubled, but He didn’t leave it there for them to figure out how. The first step was to put their faith in Him. He affirmed directly that He was fully one with God. He is “the way, the truth and the life.” (John 14:6) He cared for them and He cares for you. He is one who will walk with you and give you grace to deal with any trial. Peter tell us to “cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7) When you are in the midst of any storm, go to Jesus first. Put your faith in Him. He will see you through.
