Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” (John 13:10-11)
Passage: 2 Corinthians 12:1-10
This in any incredible statement that Jesus made. How in the world can we as disciples do “greater things” than He did? He fed 5000, not counting the women and children there, with five small loaves and two small fish. He healed the blind, deaf and lame and even raised more than one person from the dead. No one else will ever do greater things than that in the quality and the power of the miracles. However, Jesus wasn’t referring to quality of the work. He was referring to the quantity of the work for the Kingdom.
As a believer, you are part of the Kingdom of God. He wants you to join Him in His work through prayer and in partnership using your time, talents, and treasure. Jesus’ word to His disciples in that upper room included a call to them to follow His purposes for their lives and be His hands and feet in touching lives around the world. God can work and use you in the midst of every circumstance you face. Follow the purposes of God for your life and you will experience joy even in the midst of any storm.
