Turning Our World to Jesus

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Then the chief priests and the Pharisees called a meeting of the Sanhedrin. ‘What are we accomplishing?’ They asked, Here is this man performing many miraculous signs. If we let Him go on like this, everyone will believe in Him, and then the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.’ ” (John 11:47-48)
Passage: Psalm 47:1-6
In 1900, the nation of Korea only had 1% of its population that claimed to be Christian. Today, nearly one-third of South Korea identifies as Christian. In 1900, only 9% of people living on the continent of Africa claimed to be Christian. Today, about one-half are Christian. At the same time, the percentage of people in the United States who identify as Christians dropped from about 95% in 1900 to under 72% today. While many in some parts of the world are turning to Christ, many in other parts of the world are turning away from Christ.
Shortly before the final week of His earthly life, Jesus performed the greatest miracle ever witnessed when He raised Lazarus from the grave after he had been dead four days. That miracle itself caused many to believe in Him, but it was the final catalyst to cause the religious leaders in Jerusalem to determine to kill Him. Satan is behind every effort to keep people from becoming followers of Jesus. God will always work through His people to turn the world to Jesus. He wants us to join Him and make an impact in our world.
