Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Even as he walks along the road, the fool lacks sense and shows everyone how stupid he is. . . If the ax is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed but skill will bring success.” (Ecclesiastes 10:3, 10)
      Passage: Matthew 5:13-16

I have an old axe in my garage. It’s not very useful, because the blade was not sharpened over the years and it is now too dull to cut through wood. Think of your life like an axe. God created you and He has plans and purposes to use you to make a positive difference in this world. The first step for that to happen took place when you gave your life to Christ and confessed Him as Lord. Now, you need to keep growing in the Word and sharpen yourself to be the best you can be.
A fool is a person who does not consider God in his life. Solomon observed that a fool’s conduct as he walks through life will eventually reflect the character he has. Wise people want their character to be the godly in private as well as in public and they seek to have their conduct reflect that character. Think about how you respond to disappointment or criticism. Think about your conduct as you go about your day. Be conscious that others are watching you and live wise for the Lord.
