Be Concerned about Your Character

      Passage: Psalm 139:1-24

A fly is a little thing, but if you find a fly in a glass of tea or water at a restaurant, you will ask for a clean glass filled with a drink without a fly! Solomon pointed out that little things can ruin something of value. He was talking about a sin that may seem small, but if left secret and unconfessed, it can end up growing and it will show itself in your character.

When Solomon says that wise people incline their heart to the right, he was referring to wise people wanting their character to honor God and reflect well on Jesus. Your character is who you are in private, when no one else is watching. In those times, the wise believer understands Psalm 139:1-2 which says, “O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thought from afar.” There is never a right time to do the wrong things and wise people live the same in private as they do in public. Be concerned about your character and live wise for the Lord.
