Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Leaving Nazareth, He went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali – to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah: ‘Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the way to the sea, along the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles –” (Matthew 4:13-15)
       Passage: Jeremiah 29:1-14

There are over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament about the coming Messiah. Jesus fulfilled every single one. Isaiah’s prophecy in Isaiah 9:1-2, spoke of God honoring the territory given to the tribes of Zebulun and Naphtali by sending the Messiah to their area. Some may claim that Jesus knew the prophecy of Isaiah, so He went there intentionally to fulfill what Isaiah had said. However, Matthew had tied Jesus’ return to Nazareth to John’s arrest and then we know from Luke 4, that Jesus went to Capernaum after the people of Nazareth had rejected Him. Both those situations were circumstances that caused Jesus to move to each place.
In your life, you have, or you will experience trials that are unexpected and will cause something to change in your life. In the midst of those times, don’t look around in fear. Look up to God in faith. God has a plan for you. He is never shocked by what comes into your life and if He allows it, He will use it. Your hardest trials may become the greatest testimonies of your life to be a help to others. Trust God’s leadership in all circumstances. He will work out His plan for you.
