Tune in to Jesus All Year Long

Read - (2 1/2 minutes) - “There was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, . . . Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do fro Him what the Law required, Simeon took Him in his arms and praised God. . .” (Luke 2:25-28)

Passage: Hebrews 10:24-25

One of the Christian radio stations in the Dallas area is KLTY, 97.9 FM. If you want to listen to that station, you must tune to 97.9 on the FM dial in the area. You won’t get the station at 97.5 or 98.3. You also won’t get it clearly at 97.8. You will also lose the connection if you travel far away from the Dallas area. To hear the station, you must stay tuned in and you have to stay close.

Before Jesus was brought to the Temple to be dedicated to the Lord, God had told a man named Simeon that he wouldn’t die until he had seen the Messiah with his own eyes. So Simeon went everyday to the Temple with an expectation that he might see the Messiah that day. Jesus didn’t have a halo and Mary and Joseph didn’t carry a sign saying who He was, but Simeon was so tuned in that he recognized who this baby was. Stay tuned in to Jesus this year through regular worship with God’s people, being in a discipleship group and by having a consistent time alone with God. Through these and other spiritual disciplines, you hear God speak and experience Christmas all year long.
