Passage: John 1:6-9; Ecclesiastes 3:11
Every person in the world is created in the image of God. He wants every person to have an eternal, love relationship with Him. However, the sin nature which everyone has because of the sin of Adam, causes every person to be spiritually dead and living in spiritual darkness, separated from God. At the same time, God has placed within every person a spark of His presence that causes people to know that there must be a Creator and there must be something beyond this earthly existence.
This inner sense of eternity causes mankind to seek to connect to a God they do not see, but they know must be there. This explains why all the religions of man include trying to connect to God with works. It is impossible for anyone to connect with God that way, but God didn’t leave us on our own. Jesus did all the work for our salvation and for us to have a relationship with Him. It comes by faith, not by our works. The call to this relationship and to faithfulness is a divine call that God extends and then enables us to receive. Thank God He called you and set your heart on loving Him today.
