       Passage: 1 Timothy 1:12-15

Education and learning is a wonderful thing that has many benefits. It helps you become smarter and increase your knowledge. It can potentially help you get considered for a job or to get a promotion if a certain level of education or certification is required for consideration by a company. It can give you some internal satisfaction that comes from learning something new. All these and more are good reasons to keep learning and gain in knowledge. However, there is one eternally essential thing that greater knowledge cannot do. Knowledge cannot change you as a sinner and give you a personal relationship with God.
Romans 3:23 tells us, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Solomon knew God, but he explored whether increasing his knowledge without acknowledging God could change a man’s nature. It can’t. We have a sin nature that is twisted from God’s design. More learning cannot make is straight, but Jesus can. Through the simple act of faith in believing in Jesus and receiving Him, a sinner is made a saint before God and the new nature he receives is straight and perfect. Jesus changes everything. Thank Him for changing you!
