Be a Steward with Your Life

Pray – (1/2 minute)

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Again I saw something meaningless under the sun: There was a man all alone; he had neither son nor brother. There was no end to his toil, yet his eyes were not content with his wealth ‘For who am I toiling,’ he asked, ‘and why am I depriving myself of enjoyment?’ This too is meaningless – a miserable business!” (Ecclesiastes 4:7-8)
     Passage: Proverbs 22:9, Acts 20:32-35

We live in a materialistic world. Solomon observed man’s human nature and saw different responses to materialism. One was that the flesh is never satisfied and much of what drives a person to be a workaholic is envy of what others have and a desire to have the same or more. Another response is becoming lazy and refusing to work at all. A third response came from a person working and accumulating, but realizing he doesn’t have anyone he is doing it all for.
The answer to each of these under the sun responses is to be a steward of your life for the SON. When you received Christ, you gave your life to Him were given the gift of eternal life. Paul says, “You are not your own. You were bought with a price. Therefore, glorify God with your bodies.” (1 Corinthians 6:19b-20) As a believer, you have a purpose to glorify God through your all you do and receive. You can make a difference by helping others with your time, talent and treasure enjoy a meaningful life.
